Looking for Jack Frost
It’s back to school time at our house and it feels good to get back to an organized schedule.
This morning while getting Ten bundled up to face a n 9 degree morning, Mom said, “better wear your hat and mittens so Jack Frost doesn’t get you.”
Wrong to say to Ten.
All the way to school she was looking for Jack Frost.
I had to carry her across the snow drift on the parkway so Jack wouldn’t grab her ankles.
She imagined him to be some combination of Tooth Fairy (who knows when you lose a tooth) and the boogie man.
With limited time I explained to her teacher what had happened and she promised to set her straight about Jack with a positive bent.
Let’s hope she is successful…otherwise we’ve created a monster.
