May God relish our bodies

Nine loves to say grace.

That’s a good thing to instill in a six-year-old.

If someone joins the meal after grace has been said she will say grace again to cover the late-comer.

She even says grace for dessert, which is something she expects every evening, promptly within two hours after dinner. And she constantly challenges me to be more creative in the dessert department.

There’s a phrase I’ve used when saying grace that she has picked up. It goes like this:

…please use this food to nourish our bodies…

Only lately when Nine uses it it comes out:

…please use this food to relish our bodies…

You gotta love em.

I know God does regardless of the words. And I look forward to each day and the amazing process of watching these young minds develop before my eyes.

Its an opportunity to see the world partly from God’s vantage point.

And I relish it very much!
